Matt Robinson

Matt Robinson is a London based pianist, composer and improviser, working primarily in jazz and contemporary music. As well as writing music for several of his own projects, he performs regularly around the UK in various collaborations and original music projects. Matt studied at the Royal Academy of Music and was awarded the Edwin Samuel Dove prize and a Yamaha Jazz Scholarship upon graduation in 2012. Since then, Matt has performed and recorded with many leading musicians on the UK scene and is a member of several regularly performing bands including Snowpoet, Reuben Fowler Big Band, Ollie Howell Quintet, Max Luthert’s Orbital, Alex Munk Quartet, Corrie Dick Group, Nick Costley-White Quartet and the Sam Rapley Group. Matt is featured several critically acclaimed albums such as Between Shadows by trumpeter Reuben Fowler, Orbital by bassist Max Luthert and Sutures and Stitches by drummer Ollie Howell. He will also be featured on soon to be released recordings from Corrie Dick, Sam Rapley, Alex Munk, Henry Spencer and the second album from the Ollie Howell Quintet.
