Zoot Warren

Welsh composer and percussionist Zoot Warren is steadily gaining recognition as a daring craftsman of sound. His roots roam freely in the fields of jazz, world and classical music. He is a recording artist for CAM Jazz and has appeared on BBC Radio 3, Radio Cymru and BR Klassik (GER). He studied at the Guildhall School in London and is an alumnus of National Youth Jazz Wales and Ysgol Glanaethwy.

An active contributor to the UK jazz scene, he has played alongside: Huw WarrenDudley PhillipsIain BallamyMark LockheartPercy PursglovePat ThomasJohn Parricelli, Steve BerryNeil YatesPaula GardinerMartin Speake and Yuri Goloubev. Also with rising-stars: Irini ArabatziTom BarfordBen Comeau (of political-fugue fame), Conor ChaplinAdam McLoughlinInga Eichler and Tom Ollendorff. Wider collaborations include: Maria Lamburn (Taith Amser and Dragon Tongue), Kev Fox (Middlesborough), Gwilym Morus (North Wales) and Stuart Silver (all-round-polymath and word artist).

Zoot is thankful for the shining-light-guidance he has received from fantastic tutors: James Maddren, Scott Stroman, Barak Schmool, Trevor Tomkins, Martin Hathaway, Trish Clowes and Geoff Nicholls.
